The collection consists chiefly of letters to Dr. Thomason from his University of Virginia classmates. Of itnterest are a circular and correspondence from Cooper D. Schmitt concerning funds for the University chapel, 1884; a letter of introduction from Dr. James L. Cabell, 1885; and letters from Fanny Vandegrift of Red Hill, 1905-1906, describing construction at the University, student life and her boarding house.
